Our goal

Fieldline Living aims for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, so it works with a screen reader, a keyboard, zoom and a phone.

What we've done

  • A link to skip to the main content, and headings and landmarks a screen reader can move by.
  • A visible name on every form field, and every link, button and field within reach of the keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
  • Text colours checked against their backgrounds for a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1.
  • A text description for every photograph and floor plan drawing, and prices, fees and hours written as text, never as pictures.
  • Pages that fit a phone's width without scrolling sideways.
  • The turning sticker and the sliding amenities ribbon stand still when your device asks for reduced motion, and the ribbon pauses under the pointer.

What we know falls short

  • No outside audit yet: we checked the site ourselves, page by page, and fix what we find.
  • Maps are pictures of the streets. The address, the distances and the times to get places are written beside them as text.
  • The sticker stands still only when your device asks for reduced motion; it has no pause button of its own.
